"In Essentials, Unity; in Non-essentials, Liberty; in All Things, Charity," RUPERTUS MELDENIUS
In essential beliefs – we have unity.
"There is one Body and one Spirit . . . there is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and Father of us all . . ." Eph. 4:4-6
In non-essential beliefs – we have liberty.
"Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters . . . Who are you to judge someone else's servant? To his own master he stands or falls . . . So then each of us will give an account of himself to God . . . So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God." Rom. 14:1,4,12,22
In all our beliefs – we show charity
". . If I hold in my mind not only all human knowledge but also the very secrets of God, and if I have the faith that can move mountains – but have no love, I amount to nothing at all." I Cor. 13:2
I. About God
God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three personalities: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.
II. About Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He physically arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven's glory and will return again someday to earth to reign as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.
III. About The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is present in the world to make people aware of three things... Their need for Jesus Christ, their righteousness before the Father after receiving Christ, and their victory over the devil through their union with Christ. The Holy Spirit also dwells within every Christian from the moment of salvation, and is zealous to fill to overflowing the believer. Some have called this the "Baptism" in the Holy Spirit, or being "Spirit Filled," or even the "Second Blessing." (We believe in the second, third, and fourth blessing too!) Whatever it may be called, each believer may seek God for an overflowing experience with the Holy Spirit with accompanying spiritual gifts! The Spirit provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance with empowerment in doing what is right. In addition, the Holy Spirit gives every believer a spiritual gift when they are saved. As Christians, we seek daily to live under the Spirit's control. A mature believer will also manifest the Fruit of the Spirit, which is described in the bible as love, joy, peace, patience kindness, and self control.
IV. About The Bible
The Bible is God's infalible Word to us, delineated into two testaments (or covenants). It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. The entire bible, and particularly the New Covenant, is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is the Truth without any mixture of error.
V. About Human Beings
Humans are made in the image of God. However, because of the sin and disobedience of Adam and his wife Eve, the entire human race from that time on fell into a state of sin and rebellious depravity, separated from God in spiritual death.
VI. About Salvation
Salvation is God's gift of grace to all He has called to receive it. The gift of righteousness and peace with God cannot be earned through self-improvement or good works. Only through the grace of Jesus Christ, and the gift of faith in Him can anyone receive forgiveness and be saved from sin's eternal penalty. When we are called out of the darkness of sin and death and turn to Jesus in faith we are received as His very own holy and blameless children. Eternal life begins the moment a person receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.
VII. About Eternity
Humans were created to exist consciously for all eternity, either separated from God by sin, or with God through His gift of salvation. Those eternally separated from God will exist in hell, an unspeakably horrible place of unimaginable torment. Those who are called by His amazing grace into eternal life will enjoy the unspeakable bliss and joy of heaven, beholding the holy angels, forever united in love with God, and believing loved ones and all saints from the beginning of creation.
